Mast grew out of North by Northeast Development, co-founded by Steve Mabee in 2012 — more than 100 homes and $50 million in commercial assets built along the way. Today the studio carries a track record approaching $100 million in real estate development, with strategic relationships across architecture, land planning, and banking, and deep experience in proformas, construction, and sales. From small infill residential to commercial and retail, we handle projects of any size from consulting to development leadership.
Steve moved to Nashville in 2001 for the music industry, then transitioned to real estate in 2006, refining his investment expertise as an affiliate broker. Co-founding North by Northeast Development in 2012, he has managed a wide range of construction projects from Nashville to 30A and Pensacola. His diverse experience and passion for development and construction continue to drive Mast's work today.
A Belmont University graduate in Business Administration, Janelle began her finance and accounting career in 2017 at MW Real Estate, where she built transparent financial systems that fueled the company's growth. She brings that same discipline to Mast — maintaining financial health and the clear, no-surprises reporting our clients rely on.
